About the event
When shy, uncertain Walter (Haley Joel Osment) is abandoned by his greedy mother (Kyra Sedgwick) for the summer, he’s left in the care of two uncles he’s never met. Hub (Robert Duvall), a tough-as-nails loner with a fighter’s spirit, and Garth (Michael Caine), a silver-tongued storyteller, are notorious in town for their wild reputations and rumored fortune.
At first, the grumpy old men want nothing to do with Walter. But as he pries open their world, he discovers their lives are filled with larger-than-life tales of treasure, heroism, and lost love. Are they just stories, or is there truth buried beneath the legends?
What begins as an unwanted summer turns into a journey of laughter, danger, and discovery. Walter helps the old lions remember what it means to truly live, and they, in turn, teach him the courage it takes to grow up.
